The Contribution of Collaborative Tasks to the Development of Mediation Competencies through Learning Management Systems

    Get PDF
In our digital era the adoption of innovative pedagogical approaches is based on the active involvement through collaborative tasks of the participants in the pedagogical process. In this context, mediation skills in the process of cultivating learning strategies play an essential role to the educational process and upgrade the contribution of the mentor-teacher, since the socio-emotional dimension of interpersonal relationships positively contributes to awareness and self-awareness. In addition, in an action-oriented approach, the creation of pedagogical scenarios through Learning Management Systems focuses on mediation skills through the exchange of experiences, skills and good practices, enabling each participant to exploit the group’s potential and to create strategic partnerships, which bring added value to the dynamic integration of the learners in social and professional frameworks

Semiotics of the Image: Addressing the Different Types of Mental Operation and Their Sematic Interpretation

Our era is dominated by the prevailing presence of images. The spectator often identifies with the characters and aims to interpret the signs evoked by the objects, since every image is governed by codes. If we look at the history of image semiotics, we observe a cognitive and pragmatic approach. According to Kant, the images we receive from the environment are not simply reproductions but often creative productions based on patterns generated by the imagination. According to recent research in semiotics, we observe that the pragmatic approach is extended by a study of stimuli collected by the environment. On the other hand, Köhler’s theory of Gestalt considers perception as a pre-conscious activity, linking visual semiology with the functional interpretation of perception. In addition, Tardy brings into focus strategies of visual communication by highlighting the semiotic status of represented objects. For this reason, it is essential to deepen the versatility of the field of semantic interpretation of a visual support from different types of mental operations. Finally, the semiological approach to the image with different types of mental operation will be able to generate a plural and original semantic interpretation through the creative exploitation of visual elements

Oral Didactics in an Actional Approach: Manifesting Emotions and Involving the Limbic System in a Face-to-Face and in a Hybrid Context

In oral didactics, the nature of the interactions which are established among the members of the group grant a cognitive, socio-affective and behavioral dimension in order to implement collaborative tasks, linking conviviality and pragmatism. In collaborative distance learning, teachers and learners are able to share experiences as well as new IT tools, while multimodal and open approaches can facilitate exchanges among the participants who put pragmatic learning modes into practice. As a result, the promotion of new training requirements through the adoption of good educational practices, cultivates the knowledge of an action-centred creative potential. Therefore, acting and co-acting in a group’s face-to-face or even in a hybrid context becomes a new challenge for oral learning, since digital media can also condition the sensations but also the behavior of users, a fact which has consequences on the biological and neurological rhythm and psychological life of people involved in the learning process

Therefore, trainees will demonstrate digital abilities and transversal skills through the adoption of pedagogical strategies without neglecting the mastery of sophisticated digital tools, in order to react to the impasses of socio-professional life and to face the new challenges of the society of the future

Hot and Cold Cognition in Hybrid Communication

In the socioprofessional as well as the educational context, hybrid communication has experienced an explosion and exerted strong influence not only on our psychic but also on our physical existence. In this context, cybernetics makes it possible to exploit the mechanism of control and interaction among people in continuous motion. With the integration of digital media in all aspects of human life, the exchange of digital data is continuously spreading without neglecting that these new modes of communication and collaboration can also determine our senses as well as our behavior by exerting influence not only on our perceptions and thoughts but also on our mentality. On the other hand, human capacities linked to psychomotor factors make it possible to cultivate critical thinking, sense of responsibility and cooperation. However, the risk of disturbances could lead to a gap of psychomotor investment. Above all, it is necessary to take into account social cognition and the role of memory in online interactions and learning techniques with the uses of computer systems, because the memorization of actual experiences becomes profound, if we perceive each situation in a state of strong emotional involvement
